Proper thyroid hormone management depends on the chemical composition of body fluids and human tissues. This composition is subject to constant change depending on the state of health, lifestyle and environmental influence. Both too little and too much of certain elements may lead to significant dysfunctions of the endocrine system. Disturbance of physiological levels of elements may lead the development of serious diseases.
Fluorine is an element which plays a very important role in the human body. Thanks to it, the mineralization of teeth and bones proceeds properly. It occurs naturally in food and water and is one of the basic ingredients of oral hygiene products. How can the fluoride content of the body be measured accurately and precisely? What amounts of fluoride are hazardous to health?
We will try to answer these and other questions in the form of a multimedia presentation. Using modern analytical methods we will determine the content of fluorine in selected products such as toothpaste, tea and drinking water using various modern methods of analytical chemistry.
