The Japanese tradition of folding paper, originating from China was established around 700 AD and was initially used for wrapping letters and decorative gifts.
Nowadays, in the age of digitization and great achievements, Origami technology is introduced in a new version. Folding can be a great advantage when the space is limited - it can be used as a compact system that transforms into a 3D structure with variable functionality.
Origami can be reconfigured to achieve various shapes, functionality, and properties of the model.
Due to advances in computerization and mathematics, more complex geometric composition algorithms are available for endless applications in science, technology, engineering, and medicine.
During the course, we will propose ideas for the use of this ancient art in the modern world - from architecture, through fashion, to outer space. We will perform models made in two types of Origami: traditional and modular.
See you!
