Hunting a potential prey is one of the basic needs of a cat - a predator. To meet the cat's needs at home, each caregiver should take care of introducing play with elements of the hunting cycle.

The hunting cycle is a sequence of consecutive related behaviors with the acquisition of food by the cat. These include, but are not limited to: observing a potential victim, chasing, catching, playing with the victim, consuming, and ultimately the toilet and rest. Satisfying the possibility of implementing the full hunting cycle allows to prevent the occurrence of many undesirable behaviors and has a positive effect on the animal-caregiver relationship.

The project deals with issues such as the course of the hunting cycle in natural and home conditions, with particular attention to the most common mistakes made by handlers during play. In addition, a proposal of toys will be presented that will be the best for imitation hunting at home.

The project is to be a source of practical tips for all cat keepers who want to ensure that playing with their pets follows the cat's nature.
