Connectivity is a buzzword in contemporary international relations. However, in opposition to globalization, connectivity has much less controversial connotations: it is about access, networks, or infrastructure, so it has a much more neutral meaning.

In Europe-Asia relations, connectivity plays a unique role. First, in 2013, the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative was announced. Then, after a few years, also the European Union introduced its strategy on connectivity directed towards Asia in 2018.

These interesting issues of rising connectivity between Europe and Asia are the subject of the project. It will describe the characteristics of the connectivity concept in relation to economic relations between Asia and Europe (main connectivity areas, leading transmission channels, and main factors influencing the development of connectivity will be identified).
