We live in an interdependent world! Although globalization is the most known word for describing it, it is connectivity that is a buzzword in contemporary international relations. In opposition to globalization, connectivity has much less controversial connotations: it is about access, networks, or infrastructure, so it has a much more neutral meaning. In Europe-Asia economic relations, connectivity plays a unique role. First, in 2013, the Chinese Belt and Road Initiative was announced. Then, after a few years, in 2018, also the European Union introduced its strategy on connectivity directed toward Asia. What happened from that time on? Is connectivity developing? Or it's rather an empty term? These issues are the subject of the project. It will describe the characteristics of the connectivity concept in relation to economic relations between Asia and Europe (main connectivity areas, leading transmission channels, and main factors influencing the development of connectivity will be identified).
